Thank you for shopping with The Forgotten Trug (“we”, “us”, “our”). This Shipping Policy explains how we process, handle, and deliver orders placed through our website, hosted via Wix.com.

1. Delivery Areas

We currently ship to the United Kingdom only.


We do not offer international shipping at this time.

2. Shipping Provider

All orders are shipped via Royal Mail, using a service appropriate for the size, weight, and value of your item.


Available services may include:

  • Royal Mail 2nd Class

  • Royal Mail 1st Class

  • Royal Mail Tracked (where applicable)​

The selected service and cost will be displayed at checkout.

3. Processing Times

​

  • Orders are typically processed within 2–3 working days after payment is received.

  • Orders are not processed, packed, or dispatched on weekends or UK public holidays.

  • During busy periods, processing times may be slightly longer, but we will always aim to dispatch your order as quickly as possible.

4. Delivery Times

Royal Mail’s estimated delivery times are:

  • 2nd Class: 2–5 working days

  • 1st Class: 1–2 working days

  • Tracked Services: As specified by Royal Mail

Please note that delivery timeframes are estimates, not guarantees. Delays can occur due to postal volume, weather, strikes, or other Royal Mail operational factors.

5. Packaging & Handling

​

As a vintage store, we understand the importance of keeping items safe in transit.
We take great care to package items securely, using appropriate protective materials to help ensure your item arrives in the condition described.

6. Shipping Costs

​

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the item’s weight, size, and the chosen Royal Mail service.


All prices are displayed in GBP (£).

7. Address Accuracy

​

Please ensure your delivery address is complete and correct when placing your order.


We cannot be held responsible for delayed, lost, or misdelivered parcels caused by incorrect address details provided by the customer.

8. Lost, Delayed, or Damaged Parcels

​

If your parcel is significantly delayed or has not arrived within a reasonable timeframe, please contact us at hello@theforgottentrug.com and we will assist in line with Royal Mail’s claims process.

If your parcel arrives damaged, please notify us as soon as possible with photographs of:

​

  • The external packaging

  • The internal packaging

  • The item itself

This helps us support any claim with Royal Mail and resolve the issue promptly.

 

9. Multiple Items

​

If you purchase multiple items, we may combine them into one parcel where possible to reduce shipping costs and packaging use. Any combined shipping savings will be reflected at checkout or refunded where appropriate.
